The Stupa of Sariputta

Say it with me now... The Stupa of Sariputta, Naranda, India

It's an old Buddhist university founded in the 600's. I said a few posts ago that the culture of Southeast Asia doesn't interest me. It's more accurate to say I've got mixed feelings about it. The religions they have are something that makes me wonder. Buddhism seems cool. Hinduism just seems confusing.

Joshinetsu Kogen National Park

Joshinetsu Kogen National Park, Kanto region, Japan

The hot springs in this mountainous park are famous for their snow monkeys, or Japanese Macaques.

Golconda

Ruined city of Golconda, near present-day Hyderabad, India
This ancient city was home of the world's first, and for a long time only, diamond mine. It's the origin of many well-known diamonds like the Hope Diamond. Anyways, legend has it, all visitors to the city would be blessed with great wealth in their life. Sign me up.

Ha Long Bay

Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam

I don't think the culture of Southeast Asia really interests me, but the geography looks amazing.

Petra, Jordan

Petra, Jordan

I think visiting a place like this would bring out the Indiana Jones in all of us.

Fallingwater

Fallingwater, Edgar J. Kaufmann Sr. Residence, Fayette County, Pennsylvania

One of the great American homes. It's suppose to be beautiful. I also heard recently that it has some serious structural problems, so maybe I should put it near the top of my list.

Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu , Peru

This place looks amazing. Everything I've heard about it just sounds amazing. I hadn't heard anything about it as a kid and when assigned it to research for Spanish class in 7th grade I couldn't find anything about it. Turns out the teacher had spelled it wrong. She assigned me the Incan Empire instead, where I omitted the facts I learned about Machu Picchu.

Aurora Borealis

Aurora Borealis

This picture is from Bear Lake near Seward, Alaska, but the Aurora Borealis can be seen anywhere up north. The Aurora Australis would be kind of cool to see too, but it would be a little more difficult to talk about. Although, then I could start talking about my trip to Australia, whenever I get to go, that is.

Iguazu Falls

Iguazu Falls, at the border of Parana, Brazil and Misiones, Argentina

I am drawn to waterfalls. They seem so powerful and cool. This one is well over twice the size of Niagra falls and, supposedly, far more beautiful than Victoria Falls, the world's largest.
